Gilbert Gomez is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, where he oversees daily operations, strategic growth, client relations, and long-term business development. With nearly three decades of experience in the arboriculture and tree care industry, Gilbert has built a reputation for combining extensive field knowledge with strong leadership and operational management.

Over the years, Gilbert has earned numerous professional credentials, including becoming a Certified Arborist and TRAQ Qualified, while successfully growing the company through a diversified and hands-on business approach. His expertise spans complex tree care operations, hazardous tree removals, large-scale project management, and client consulting for residential, commercial, and municipal properties.

As CEO, Gilbert remains actively involved in both the administrative and operational sides of the business, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards. His leadership philosophy is centered around accountability, professionalism, and maintaining long-term relationships with clients through quality service and trust.

Jose L. Gomez, Executive Vice President

Jose L. Gomez runs the day-to-day operations for the Landscape Management Division. As an Account Manager, Jose oversees the landscape management crews. His duties involve communicating with HOA board members, management companies, and business development. Jose possesses exceptional knowledge in landscape management. He estimates new landscapes or upgrades for existing or new clients. Also a Certified Arborist, Jose understands the ever-changing landscape and drought conditions that plague the Southern California region. Jose manages to create beautiful landscapes of many styles.

Apolonio (Polo) Gomez, the company liaison to the community, is Gomez Landscape & Tree Care’s Consulting Arborist. As a member of the American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA) and a board member of the Canoga Park Improvement Association, Polo works with the community organization to find ways to improve the urban environment- whether it be planting a new tree for the community or educating homeowners or property managers regarding tree hazards that exist in the landscape. If you need a tree risk assessment or a tree preservation plan, Polo Gomez is your guy. Polo possesses several important credentials that are necessary for Gomez Landscape & Tree Care to operate and be in compliance with city, county, and state ordinances. Having to acquire countless hours of continuing education units to maintain these credentials exposes Polo to the bright minds of the University of California (UC) system. Traveling to different venues around California and the United States, Polo continues to expand his knowledge in arboriculture, integrated pest management, irrigation conservation systems, and SAFETY. As a certified tree care safety professional (CTSP), Polo is also responsible for company safety meetings and tailgate briefings.

Angelica Garrett, Vice President

Gomez Landscape & Tree Care thrives under the professionalism of Angelica Garrett. Angelica assumes many roles (office manager, accountant, financial manager and advisor), but none are more important than her customer service. Everybody always comments on what great customer service she provides. Angelica’s great communication skills have made Gomez’s daily operations seamless.

Polly Gomez, Esq.

Polly Gomez is an attorney, ISA Certified Arborist®, and integral member of the leadership team at GOMEZ Tree Care. Combining legal expertise with hands-on experience in arboriculture and business operations, Polly brings a unique and highly valuable perspective to the company’s continued growth and long-term vision.

Before earning her law degree, Polly worked extensively within the family business as an administrative office manager, where she helped oversee daily operations, client relations, scheduling, and organizational management. During that time, she also earned her ISA Certified Arborist credential, further deepening her understanding of the tree care industry and the technical standards required to properly manage and preserve trees.

After graduating from law school and becoming an attorney, Polly expanded her role within the company by contributing legal insight, strategic planning, risk management, contract review, and business development support. Her background allows her to bridge the gap between professional tree care, client advocacy, and modern business management — an uncommon combination within the arboriculture industry.

Polly’s commitment to professionalism, education, and ethical business practices continues to strengthen the foundation of GOMEZ Tree Care as a family-owned company built on integrity, expertise, and exceptional service. With a forward-thinking mindset and strong leadership skills, she plays an important role in helping guide the company into the future while maintaining the values that have defined the business for decades.

Jaime Gomez, Vice President of Growth & Strategy

Driven by a data-first approach to growth, Jaime is deploying proprietary software to build a comprehensive end-to-end sales process designed to exponentially grow company revenue. He directs the software team, defining the scope of every system built — from how software interacts with backend infrastructure to how it presents information to end users. He has centralized the company's operations by introducing enterprise software and leveraging APIs to build a unified ecosystem. He also takes ownership of designing algorithms that automate complex operational processes like optimizing routes and calculating the true cost and profitability of each job. Beyond technology, he has raised the bar on hiring by defining clear standards around technical aptitude, physical endurance, and bilingualism while supporting long–term employee development through physical and written assessments on arboriculture fundamentals.

Vig Selvaraj, Head of Software Engineering

M.S. Computer Science, University of Southern California; B.S. Computer Engineering, University of Miami

As the head of engineering, Vig and his team build custom software that eliminates manual data entry and transforms raw operational information into structured data. He built custom backend scripts that automatically calculate profit margins per job, allowing the managers to restructure routes and allocate resources in the most profitable way while preserving craftsmanship. Furthermore, he architected and maintains the company's cloud infrastructure deployed on AWS — serverless functions with Lambda and scalable compute with EC2 — powering systems like schedule automation that translates the managers' master view into personalized daily schedules for each employee. This extends to manpower tracking, which provides a real-time view of each employee's availability so managers can assign employees to jobs that best align with their skills. Looking ahead, he is developing a cross-platform mobile application that will serve management and field crews internally while giving customers the ability to schedule tree pruning services, track the status of their work, and manage invoicing all in one place.
